Lance’s aviation career started with a technical apprenticeship at Trans Australia Airlines in 1965. The past 20+ years have involved all technical aspects of leasing, commencing with AWAS in 1998, then responsible technical manager for wet leasing operations in the Middle East, Africa & South America & extending to VP for Asset & Fleet management activities. Notwithstanding extensive operating lease negotiations, responsibilities also included evaluation & negotiations for pipeline Airbus & Boeing product, configuration definition, powerplant selections, equipment & component manufacturers. Prior to joining the Lessor Community, Lance was CEO, VP for Marketing & Development, Maintenance Manager with widebody MROs in Australia & then Singapore. Within the airline environment, management roles have included Airline Director of Maintenance, Maintenance Manager, Fleet Planning & Quality Assurance Manager. Lance’s career has necessitated extended overseas basings, including Papua New Guinea, Singapore, USA & Ireland.
